Are Women Worse Off Because Of Feminism

Updated: Nov 2, 2018

What women used to swim in before feminism brought us the bikini.

When feminism first began it was a common sense movement that sought just and equitable treatment for women. The women's rights movement actually grew out of the same grassroots movements that fought to end slavery and end the "Jim Crow" laws and the "Black Codes" that Southern Democrats made the rule of law after the civil war.

After women gained the right to vote and the same protections under the law as men they turned their sights to other issues like the right to get a sun tan and swim in something that is comfortable.

Even though bikinis have actually been around for years the Vatican declared that bikinis were sinful in response to their growing popularity in the 30's and 40's. Spain, Portugal and Italy actually banned the bikini in response to the religious push back. Some states outlawed them as well. Up until 1965 a person could get a citation for wearing on in New Hampshire.

These days the bikini is about as American as apple pie, but they still have their controversies.

Bikinis were banned from beauty pageants around the world. The National Legion of Decency was pressuring Hollywood to keep them out of films. Despite all of this the bikini continued to grow in popularity. More and more they appeared in popular films and feminists protested against laws banning their use saying that they should be able to wear whatever they want to the beach.

The Miss America Pageants Recently banned the swimsuit competition.

As you may know the Miss America Pageant recently decided to ban swimsuit competitions because of pressure from feminists complaining that wearing the iconic swimwear is objectifying women.

The new feminist approved swimwear.

So the new feminist/liberal approved swimwear pictured above suggests that women in the name of preventing their bodies being objectified and to prevent Muslims from being offended must now wear suits that cover up as much skin as possible. It is like they want to go back to the 1930's or something. It is gaining some traction. Spain actually banned bikinis in 2011 and some of the other European countries are thinking of doing it as well.

This trend of taking things away from women in the name of feminism isn't restricted to swim wear either. Apparently being polite to a woman is now considered misogyny, so you are not allowed to call a woman maam, hold the door for her, compliment a woman, or help a woman change her tire.

In my opinion a world without good manners where no one is allowed to help each other out or lend a kind word doesn't sound like a very nice place to live. And if that world also has no bikinis it would simply be no fun at all. This stuff is getting out of hand. I recently went to a restaurant that used to hold a halloween party. This year they made a rule that women weren't allowed to wear sexy costumes to the party. Needless to say the party sucked, half the women didn't bother wearing costumes at all, and all of the patrons looked miserable.

So I say we need to start standing up to these people that want to ban everything. It is supposed to be a free country. In my opinion swim in whatever you want, and tell that judgmental jerk feminist glaring at you from across the room to suck an egg. If you want to help someone in need then help them, and if you like holding doors open for people go ahead. It is time that we declare our independence from these would be feminist/liberal dictators and send them off to their safe space to cry about whatever is triggering them at the moment. Cry away little triggered feminist the vast majority of us don't care about your feelings.
