Cheswold Indians Refuse to Change Their Name in the Face of Lawsuits

Updated: Apr 11, 2018

Home of the Cheswold Indians

Cheswold High school has recently come under fire for their team name, The Indians. The school board voted unanimously to keep their name in spite threats of lawsuits from Native Americans. Instead the school decided to change their mascot. Their new mascot depicts a mighty Sihk Warrior holding a traditional Indian sword.

The superintendent pointed out that the school system refuses to be bullied into changing their name. However, she pointed out that their former mascot was historically inaccurate. The school board felt that they should place the honor of naming their team where it belonged. The school decided to change their mascot into a proud Sihk warrior.

"The people of India have a rich culture and proud history and from now on Cheswold High school will honor that by proudly continuing to call ourselves the Cheswold Indians," the superintendent said. "It is our opinion that some people enjoy having their people's history honored by sports team names. After polling many of our cities Indian population we found that they were very flattered that our school would now be honoring their traditions."

The new mascot for the Cheswold Indians depicts a Sihk warrior brandishing a Khanda. (a traditional Indian two edged sword)

*This story Fictional Satire for entertainment only.* For the really stupid people who don't know what fiction is. (yes some people are that stupid. It is a made up story.) For the really, really, really stupid people that don't know what satire means here you go.
