Authorities in Lewis County searched a truck carrying Starbucks' products bound for Spokane this week turned up 126 pounds of methamphetamine and other drugs. Two people were arrested and booked into jail. One was the driver, a 22-year-old driver from Mexico, and the other was a 62-year-old passenger from California.
The truck was coming from California and was stopped Thursday, because of suspicious activity, a drug-sniffing dog was called, then the truck was searched. The search revealed 90 bundles of Meth hidden in the sleeper birth. The search also found 2.4 pounds of heroin, several thousands oxycodone 30-milligram pills and a few grams of cocaine.
Police said no drugs were found in the trailer and that none of the food contaminated. The trailer was picked up by another truck and continued on to Spokane. The operation was conducted by the the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team, which comprises detectives from the Centralia and Chehalis Police Departments, Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Department of Corrections, and the the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team.
Well now we know why people like Starbucks so much. One would think that if you tell them to add enough expresso that you wouldn't need the meth. Just kidding of course. I've always thought that Starbucks was a little high, I just didn't think that some of their customers were also high.
