All the recounts results are in. All the Florida counties in question have finally finished leaving both Rick for Senate and Ron DeSantis for Governor as decisive winners in two very close races.
This years midterm elections have had all of the excitement of watching a horse race, complete with down to the finish line photo finishes.
This year has been exceptionally contentious as the controversial Broward County Supervisor of elections Brenda Snipes remained in charge of recounts there despite prior convictions for election fraud in the 2016 election. Protestors showed up outside of the recount center with signs chanting "lock her up".
These quotes from Politico:
“Sen. Bill Nelson has run out of time, run out of favorable court rulings and is about to officially run out of votes.
‘It’s done. But it was done before today. This was a total Hail Mary,’ said a top Democrat involved in Nelson’s campaign who didn’t want to speak publicly before the Democratic Party icon conceded defeat to one of the party’s most-hated rivals.”
Politico’s Marc Caputo goes on:
“Scott’s defeat of Nelson certifies him as a Democratic giant-killer who continues to prove party elites wrong. In three straight elections, Democratic insiders have predicted his defeat. Scott first beat Alex Sink, the woman once thought to be the future of the party, in his first gubernatorial race. Then he defeated former Gov. Charlie Crist, a once-highly popular governor. And now he has bested the one politician Democrats thought was unbeatable in a Florida general election, Nelson.”

This election has fueled much skepticism and anger as many irregularities occurred during the recount beyond just the fact that a convicted fraudster was in charge of part of the recount. Many videos have surfaced showing violations in chain of custody, and boxes of provisional ballots found in the trunk of a rental car at the Ft. Lauderdale airport that sparked a bomb scare. Despite all the attempts by Democrats to steal these elections congratulations are in order to Governor Ron Desantis and Senator Rick Scott. Good job in running a tough race and for standing up for Florida voters to maintain the integrity of the election.
