On Saturday 4/21/18 about two dozen white supremacists attempted to hold a peaceful march through the streets of Dunham, GA. I say attempted because they were attacked by hundreds of violent Antifa members. The attack was so bad that local law enforcement was forced to step in to save the lives of the marchers.
The first amendment grants free speech to all citizens, even to people that the vast majority of us disagree with. We cannot simply say that, because we do not agree with one group or another that it is acceptable to do violence against them. I believe that most of us would agree that the beliefs of white supremacists is repugnant and socially unacceptable, but that doesn't mean that we should attack them.
Antifa is well known for their violent rhetoric against groups that they disagree with, and their violent tactics are well documented. I think that it is sad that in America we have to deal with this kind of nonsense. KKK and Nazi have marched in many cities across America over the years without harming a single person. Over the years those of us who disagree with them have simply ignored them. They aren't hurting anything by having a peaceful march. What is the point of turning this into a violent event Antifa?
